Irene Bwari Angwenyi is a Senior Manager for Finance and Grants. She is based in Nairobi, Kenya.

Irene brings over 15 years of diverse experience in the development sector, specializing in financial management, grants management, and operational leadership. Her extensive expertise includes budget development and management, financial reporting with a focus on donor compliance, audit management, and leading high-performing, cross-functional teams. She has a proven track record of enhancing financial processes, driving program implementation, and building capacity across organizations.

Before joining BRAC International, Irene served as the Head of Finance & Administration at Faith to Action Network, where she played a pivotal role in driving financial strategy and operational efficiency. She also brings valuable experience from several leading international non-governmental organizations, including Lutheran World Relief, where she was the East Africa Regional Finance & Administration Manager, as well as Feed the Children and HelpAge International, among others. Her broad expertise spans financial leadership, operational management, and strategic planning across diverse humanitarian and development sectors.

Irene is a Certified Public Accountant of Kenya (CPA-K) and holds a Master of Business Administration in Strategic Management alongside a Bachelor of Commerce in Finance, both from the University of Nairobi.
