This event originally took place and was live-streamed and recorded on July 17, 2024, on UN Web TV.
As the world grapples with multiple challenges, the international community must not lose sight of a more silent, yet devastating crisis: the alarming rise of poverty and inequalities in low- and middle-income countries. The OECD Development Co-operation Report 2024 addresses the intersecting challenges at stake: the shifting
patterns of poverty and inequalities, how climate change is exacerbating both, and the potential of harnessing green transitions to serve the core mission of development co-operation to reduce poverty and inequalities.
The OECD hosted this high-level policy dialogue focused on:
- Policy solutions and best practices for ending poverty, reducing inequalities, and building climate resilience
that development co-operation can support. - Opportunities to reduce poverty and inequalities while fostering green transitions.
- Concrete ways to fulfill commitments and step up collective action for people and the planet.
UPGI’s Global Lead for Policy and Partnerships, Heidi McAnnally-Linz, participated as a panelist.
