The Government of Finland, the Government of Ghana, the Government of Norway, the Government of Vietnam, and UNFPA, the United Nations Sexual and Reproductive Health Agency organized this high-level side event on the margins of the 78th session of the United Nations General Assembly, titled “Building an equitable future through women-centric innovations.”

The 90-minute in-person event aimed to amplify actions for closing the gender equity gaps in science, technology, and financing by bringing together stakeholders to discuss unified, global efforts to normalize gender equity in science and technology.

The event aimed to showcase the best practices in the public and private sectors. It highlighted efforts to accelerate transformative norms and principles and introduced data-driven arguments and strategies for closing the gaps in women-focused and gender-inclusive solutions in science, technology, and financing by 2030, as envisioned by the UNFPA-led Equity 2030 Alliance.
